Safety Belt With Anchor Plate Thread Damage

NOTE: The seat and shoulder safety belts are factory-installed in their proper locations. If the belts are removed for any reason, they should be installed. The 7/16 x 20 safety seat belt Torx (R) head anchor bolts should be hand started and then tightened to 34-46 N.m (25-33 Lb-Ft).

Parts Replacement Chart:






1. Remove the broken or stripped bolt and discard.
2. Drill out the internal threads in the safety belt anchor plate with a 27/64-inch drill.
3. Rethread the anchor plate with a 1/2-13 tap.
4. Blow out the chips.
5. Install the attachment parts in the applicable sequence. Tighten the replacement bolt to 34-46 N.m (25-33 Lb-Ft). Replace original parts with the service parts indicated in the safety belt parts replacement chart.
