Initial Inspection

Diagnostics for this system require use of the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester (007-00500) or equivalent. The module controlling the system being diagnosed communicates with the Data Link Connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel.

^ Use the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 418-F048 (007-00500) or equivalent connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and to execute self test diagnostics for the integrated air bag module.

^ If self test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, go to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

^ If the integrated air bag module cannot be accessed by the NGS, go to Pinpoint Test B. B: Module Communication Error
