Fuel Tank: Testing and Inspection

1. If required, steam clean fuel tank.

WARNING: FUEL SUPPLY TUBES ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH FUEL INJECTED ENGINES WILL REMAIN PRESSURIZED FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE PRESSURE MUST BE RELIEVED BEFORE SERVICING THE FUEL SYSTEM OR PERSONAL INJURY OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLE MAY OCCUR. REFER TO FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE.

CAUTION: Remove the fuel pump prior to steaming the fuel tank. Care should be exercised not to deform the plastic reservoir inside the fuel tank with excessively hot steam or direct contact with plastic surface or damage to the vehicle may occur.

NOTE: Fuel tanks do not require special cleaning procedures and may be steam-cleaned or serviced using standard procedures.

2. Allow fuel tank to thoroughly air dry.
