Headlamp System
The headlamp system consists of:- Two aerodynamic headlamps with replaceable halogen bulbs.
- Three-position headlamp switch (with integral circuit breaker).
- Headlamp dimmer switch (part of multi-function switch).
- Circuit wiring and circuit protection. The headlamp switch:
- Is provided power through Circuit 38 (BK/O).
- Is protected by power distribution box fuse HD LPS (50A) located in the engine compartment.
- Is provided ground at the headlamp bulb and retainer through Circuit 57 (BK).
- When pulled all the way out, provides power to the headlamp dimmer switch (part of the multi-function switch through Circuit 15 [R/Y]).
With the headlamp dimmer switch:
- In the LO position (middle position), power is supplied to the low-beam elements through Circuit 13 (R/BK).
- In the HI position (forward detent), power is supplied to the high-beam elements through Circuit 12 (LG/BK) and to the high-beam indicator in the instrument cluster.
- Momentarily pulled toward the steering wheel, the flash-to-pass switch closes and the high-beam head lamps light and will remain lit until the headlamp dimmer switch is released.
