Installation
1. Install engine-lifting equipment and remove engine assembly from work stand.NOTE: Lightly oil all bolt and stud threads before installation except those specifying special sealant with Super Premium SAE 5W30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
2. Position engine assembly in vehicle.
3. Install two engine-to-transmission bolts.
4. Lower engine onto front engine support insulators and remove Rotunda Floor Crane 014-00071, Rotunda Engine Lifting Bracket 303-D095 (014-00792) and Rotunda Separator Bar 303-F054 (014-00793) or equivalent.
NOTE: Seat LH side front engine support insulator locating pin before RH side front engine support insulator.
5. Remove Rotunda 1-1/2 Floor Jack 164-R3511 or equivalent from under transmission.
6. Tighten two engine-to-transmission bolts.
7. Raise vehicle.
8. Install remaining engine-to-transmission bolts. Tighten all bolts to 34-46 Nm (25-33 ft. lbs.).
9. Install torque converter bolts and tighten to 27-46 Nm (20-33 ft. lbs.). Install inspection plug to engine rear plate.
10. Install and tighten front engine support insulator through bolts. Tighten through bolts to 47-68 Nm (35-50 ft. lbs.).
11. Install starter motor.
12. On automatic transmission-equipped vehicles, install transmission oil cooler line bracket.
13. Install dual converter Y pipe.
14. Connect heated oxygen sensor.
15. Install oil bypass filter.
16. Lower vehicle.
17. Install A/C compressor mounting bracket with drive belt tensioner attached.
18. Connect evaporative emission hose.
19. Install radiator coolant recovery reservoir. Connect constant control relay module at wiring connector.
20. Connect main vacuum source hose.
21. Connect fuel charging wiring to engine control sensor wiring at 42-pin connector.
22. Remove plugs from fuel supply and return lines and connect lines.
23. Install accelerator cable bracket.
24. Connect accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable to throttle body.
25. Install wiring shield.
26. Install A/C compressor and retaining bolts. Tighten to 21-29 Nm (16-21 ft. lbs.).
27. Remove caps or plugs on A/C compressor lines and connect lines to A/C compressor.
28. Connect A/C clutch to fuel charging wiring.
29. Connect power steering pressure switch at wiring connector.
30. Install power steering pump and bracket.
31. Connect power steering hoses.
32. Install radiator.
33. Connect lower radiator hose to water pump.
34. Install heater inlet and heater return tube hoses.
35. On automatic transmission-equipped vehicles, install transmission cooler lines.
36. Install upper radiator hose.
37. Install cooling fan motor, fan blade and fan shroud assembly.
38. Connect engine control sensor wiring to cooling fan motor.
39. Install radiator coolant recovery reservoir and connect constant control relay module at wiring connector.
40. Install drive belt.
41. Install radiator upper sight shield.
42. Install air cleaner outlet tube to throttle body.
43. Install hood to previously marked position.
44. Connect underhood lamp wiring.
45. Connect battery ground cable.
46. Refill crankcase to proper level with clean engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
47. Refill engine cooling system.
48. Evacuate and recharge A/C system.
49. Start engine and check for leaks.
