Rear

REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove retaining clip from parking brake rear cable and conduit at rear disc brake caliper.

NOTE: It is not necessary to disconnect hydraulic components.





4. Release tension from parking brake rear cable and conduit and disengage rear parking brake cable end from parking brake lever. Remove parking brake rear cable and conduit end from rear disc brake caliper.
5. Hold disc brake caliper locating pin hex-heads with open-end wrench. Remove upper rear brake pin retainer.
6. Rotate rear disc brake caliper away from rear disc brake rotor.





7. Remove inner and outer rear brake lining and disc brake pad anti-rattle clip from rear disc support bracket.

INSTALLATION





1. Using Rear Caliper Piston Adjuster 206-026, rotate rear disc brake piston and adjuster clockwise until it is fully seated.

NOTE: Make sure one of the two slots in rear disc brake piston face is positioned so it will engage nib on rear brake lining.

2. Insert the disc brake pad anti-rattle clips and install inner and outer rear brake linings on rear disc support bracket.
3. Rotate rear disc brake caliper assembly over rear disc brake rotor into position on rear disc support bracket. Make sure rear brake linings and disc brake pad anti-rattle clips are installed correctly.
4. Apply Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G315-A5 to upper rear brake pin retainer threads. Install rear brake pin retainer and tighten to 31-35 Nm (23-25 ft. lbs.) while holding disc brake caliper locating pins with an open-end wrench.
5. Attach end of parking brake rear cable and conduit to parking brake lever. Install cable retaining clip on rear disc brake caliper assembly.
6. Install wheel and tire assembly, using Rotunda Accutorq Lug Nut Sockets 164-RO303 or equivalent on 1/2 inch drive air impact wrench or torque wrench to tighten lug nuts to 115-142 Nm (85-104 ft. lbs.).

CAUTION: Failure to tighten lug nuts in a star pattern may result in high rotor runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness, shudder and vibration.

7. Lower vehicle.
