Inboard Tapping Plate

1. If the seat and front seat track assembly was not previously removed from the vehicle, remove it.
2. Remove front seat track from front seat cushion frame and spring.
3. Disengage front seat cushion cover retainers along the front, rear and inboard side of the front seat cushion frame and spring. Remove hog rings retaining front seat cushion cover at the rear of the front seat cushion frame and spring.
4. Remove and discard the shoulder bolt used to retain the front seat back frame to the front seat cushion frame and spring at the inboard pivot.
5. Carefully peel up front seat back cover as required to expose the inboard pivot bracket.







6. Drill out the stripped or deformed hole in the pivot bracket using a letter "X" 10 mm diameter drill bit.
7. Carefully work the front seat back cover down over the pivot bracket sufficiently enough to permit alignment of the pivot screw to the hole in the pivot bracket.
8. Obtain the following parts:
- N801715-S2-Screw- M10 x 1.50 x 45.0 Wafer Hd. Shld. Tap, one per seat
- N620482-S2-Nut - M10 x 1.50, one per seat
Position the front seat back assembly to the front seat cushion frame and spring at the inboard pivot and install the new replacement pivot bolt.







9. Install nut on the pivot bolt.
10. Using a wrench to hold the nut, tighten the bolt and nut to 19-27 Nm (14-19 lb-ft).
11. Install the front seat cushion cover.
12. Install the front seat track.
13. Install the seat and front seat track in the vehicle.

NOTE: If the seat is equipped with an inertia front seat back latch, check the front seat back latch for proper operation before installing the seat assembly in the vehicle.

14. Check the front seat track for proper operation.
15. Check the restraint system for proper operation.
