Door Sensor/Switch (For Alarm): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove front door trim panel. Position watershield away from the access holes.
2. Remove door lock cylinder retainer.
3. Disconnect the front door latch control cylinder rod at the door lock cylinder.
4. Disconnect door lock cylinder switch connector.
5. Remove door lock cylinder from the front door.







6. Before disassembly of the door lock cylinder switch, mark the position of the front door latch operating lever and door lock cylinder switch as shown. The door lock cylinder switch can be installed in more than one position on the door lock cylinder. If not correctly positioned, the door lock cylinder switch will not function properly. If replacing the door lock cylinder switch, mark new door lock cylinder switch exactly as old door lock cylinder switch.







7. Remove E-Clip from door lock cylinder.
8. Remove front door latch operating lever and door lock cylinder switch from door lock cylinder.

INSTALLATION







1. Install door lock cylinder switch front door latch operating lever and E-clip to door lock cylinder.

NOTE: When installing a new door lock cylinder switch, make sure it is extended correctly as shown before installing on the door lock cylinder.







2. Install door lock cylinder to vehicle with door lock cylinder switch oriented as shown, following removal procedure in reverse order. Verify door lock cylinder switch.
