Installation
1. Make sure the mounting surface of the flywheel housing and cylinder block are free of dirt, paint and burrs. Raise the transmission and move forward until the input shaft splines enter the clutch hub splines and the flywheel housing is positioned against the cylinder block.2. Install the seven flywheel housing-to-cylinder block retaining bolts. Tighten all retaining bolts to 38-52 Nm (28-38 ft. lbs.).
3. Using a transmission jack, raise the transmission until the gearshift lever can be secured. Install and tighten the retaining bolts and washers to 26-35 Nm (20-25 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the electrical connector to speedometer sensor on extension housing.
5. Using a transmission jack, raise the rear of the transmission and install the transmission support. Install and tighten retaining bolts to 47-68 Nm (35-50 ft. lbs.).
6. With the extension housing resting on the engine rear support, install the transmission extension housing support retaining nut. Tighten the nut to 34-48 Nm (25-35 ft. lbs.).
7. Connect the backup lamp switch wiring harness.
8. Install the dual converter H pipe. Tighten the retaining bolts to 27-41 Nm (20-30 ft. lbs.).
9. Remove the extension housing installation tool and slide the forward end of the driveshaft over the transmission output and fifth gear drive shaft. Connect the driveshaft to the rear axle universal joint flange. Make sure driveshaft index marks align. Tighten bolts to 95-130 Nm (70-95 ft. lbs.).
10. Connect clutch cable to clutch release lever. Install clutch release lever dust shield and retaining bolt. Tighten to 17-23 Nm (13-16 ft. lbs.).
11. Install starter motor.
12. Lower the vehicle. Install gearshift lever boot and console panel gear shift plate. Check the shift and crossover motion for full shift engagement and smooth crossover operation.
13. Connect battery ground cable.
