Oil Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove valve covers, engine front cover, oil pan and oil pump screen cover and tube.
2. Remove timing chain.

3. Remove four bolts retaining oil pump to cylinder block. Remove oil pump.

INSTALLATION
1. Rotate inner rotor of oil pump to align with flats on crankshaft and install oil pump flush with cylinder block. Install four retaining bolts and tighten to 8-12 Nm (71-106 in. lbs.).
3. Replace oil filter.
4. Install timing chain.
5. Install engine front cover, oil pump screen cover and tube, oil pan and valve covers.
6. Fill engine to specified level on oil level dipstick with clean engine oil Motorcraft XO-5W30-QSP meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
7. Start engine and check for leaks.
