Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the door lock control system from the keyless entry remote transmitter.
- Lock front doors from keyless entry remote transmitter.
- Unlock driver front door from keyless entry remote transmitter.
- Unlock passenger front door from keyless entry remote transmitter.
- Unlock luggage compartment door from keyless entry remote transmitter.
- Activate and then deactivate personal security alarm from keyless entry remote transmitter.

NOTE: Observe interior lamps and antitheft alarm indicator lamp while operating door lock control system.


2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Binding latch mechanism.
- Binding linkage.
- Misaligned front door.
- Misaligned luggage compartment door.

Electrical
- Low battery charge.
- Open fuse
- Loose connectors.
- Corroded connectors.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concerns that can be readily identified, repair as required.
4. If the concerns remain after the inspection, determine the symptom and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
