Engine Fuel System Leak Test
1. Remove fuel pump relay from power distribution box.NOTE: After the vehicle has soaked for several hours (not run), a very slight natural gas smell may come from within the intake manifold and intake air system. This is normal, as the injectors leak down from the fuel rail to the intake manifold over several hours.
2. Jump fuel pump circuit from socket 87 to socket 30 to pressurize system.
NOTE: Construct a jumper wire from 152 mm (6 inches) of 18 gauge wire and two spade terminals.
3. Remove jumper wire.
4. Check all joints for leaks with Rotunda Combustible Gas Detector 134-00049 or equivalent at each joint.
5. If leak(s) is detected, verify joint is tightened or engaged properly. Re-test with Snoop.
6. Tighten or engage joint as necessary and recheck for leak.
7. If joint is tightened or engaged properly, refer to Fuel Line Venting. Service component.
8. Once service is complete, recheck for leaks.
9. Install fuel pump relay in power distribution box.
