Brake Light Switch: Description and Operation

The Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch provides power to the stoplamps and signals various other systems, including:
- anti-lock brake control module
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
- shift lock actuator
- speed control servo

Power is provided to the BPP switch through Fuse 1 (15 A). This fuse is hot at all times. With the BPP switch closed, power is provided to the stoplamps through Circuit 511 (LG). Ground is provided to the stoplamps through Circuit 57 (BK).
