Parking Brake Release Switch: Description and Operation

The automatic parking brake release switch:
- is a vacuum switch.
- is located on the top of the steering column.
- supplies engine vacuum to the parking brake release vacuum motor in all forward gears.
- vents the parking brake release vacuum motor in PARK, REVERSE and NEUTRAL.
- operates off the shift tube cam which is designed to open and close the parking brake release switch between NEUTRAL and DRIVE.
