Conventional Instrument Cluster

When the ignition switch is turned to RUN, the following warning lamps will prove out by momentarily lighting the following indicators:
- LOW FUEL
- BRAKE
- charging system warning
- safety belt
- AIR BAG
- Anti-lock Brake (ABS)
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (CHECK ENGINE)
- OD OFF
- Traction Control (TRAC CNTL)
- thermometer symbol

Printed Circuit
The instrument cluster printed circuit:
- supplies current to the instrument panel lamps and warning indicators.
- is made of copper foil which is bonded to the polyester-base film (usually referred to as Mylar).
- is mounted to the instrument cluster housing and, due to its location, cannot be easily inspected or tested in the vehicle.
- is vulnerable to damage when a probe is used for in-vehicle testing because the probe can pierce the printed circuit or, in some cases, burn the copper conductors.
