Compact Disc Player (CD): Description and Operation

There are four combinations of audio system components available on these vehicles:
- Electronic Search Radio (ESR) radio chassis
- Electronic Search Cassette (ESC) radio chassis
- Luxury P100i cassette radio chassis
- Audiophile P100i cassette with digital audio compact disc changer

The base system consists of four base radio speakers.







- The luxury P100i cassette radio chassis consists of a housing, cassette player, bezel assembly, large graphic vacuum fluorescent display, electronic control switches, an amplifier and radio circuitry.

Luxury (P100i) Cassette Radio
The luxury audio system consists of:
- two luxury front door radio speakers
- two luxury coaxial rear radio speakers
- separate signal and return wiring to each radio speaker

JBL (R)

WARNING: USE OF CONTROLS AND ADJUSTMENTS OR PERFORMANCE OF PROCEDURES OTHER THAN THOSE SPECIFIED MAY RESULT IN HAZARDOUS RADIATION EXPOSURE.

The JBL (R) sound system consists of:
- four JBL (R) two-way radio speakers mounted in the front doors and package tray panel
- one sub-woofer enclosure and sub-woofer radio amplifier mounted under the package tray panel
- a digital radio

A luggage compartment mounted audio compact disc changer is available as an option with the JBL (R) sound systems.

Luxury P100i Cassette and Audiophile P100i Cassette Radio Controls

WARNING: THE USE OF OPTICAL INSTRUMENTS WITH THIS PRODUCT WILL INCREASE EYE HAZARD AS THE LASER BEAM USED IN THE DIGITAL AUDIO COMPACT DISC CHANGER IS HARMFUL TO THE EYES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE THE CASE. REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED PERSONNEL ONLY.

NOTE: The luxury P100i and Audiophile P100i AM/FM stereo/cassette radio chassis are identical with the exception of the Digital Signal Processing (DSP), which is only offered on the Audiophile unit.
