Accelerator Cable

REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Using a suitable tool, push the accelerator pedal nylon bushing out of the accelerator pedal and shaft arm.
2. Remove accelerator cable housing from dash panel by removing two screws retaining accelerator cable housing to dash panel and pushing outward from inside passenger compartment.
3. Remove speed control actuator cable, if equipped.
4. Remove the throttle body lever snow shield.
5. Disconnect the accelerator cable at the throttle body lever by inserting a screwdriver between the accelerator cable and the throttle body lever and giving a twist.
6. Remove the accelerator cable housing to accelerator cable mounting bracket retaining bolt.
7. Remove accelerator cable from accelerator cable retainer on upper intake manifold brace.

NOTE: Disconnect speed control actuator cable from the accelerator cable, if equipped.

8. To install, reverse Removal procedure and make sure accelerator cable movement is not restricted. Tighten accelerator cable to accelerator cable mounting bracket retaining bolt to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb in). Tighten throttle body lever snow shield nut to 3.4-4.8 Nm (31-42 lb in).
