REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Refer to Starting and Charging.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove dual converter Y pipe.
4. Remove two lower exhaust manifold retaining nuts.
5. Lower vehicle.
6. Remove secondary air injection manifold tube from LH exhaust manifold.
7. Remove three bolts and exhaust manifold shield from LH exhaust manifold.
8. Remove oil level indicator tube retaining bolt.
9. Remove four upper exhaust manifold retaining nuts.
10. Remove LH exhaust manifold and exhaust manifold gasket from engine.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: New exhaust manifold gasket must be used if exhaust manifold is removed.

1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Tighten exhaust manifold retaining nuts to 40-60 Nm (30-44 ft. lbs.).
3. Tighten manifold heat shield retaining bolts to 16-23 Nm (12-16 ft. lbs.).
4. Tighten flange nut on secondary air injection manifold tube to 40-45 Nm (29-33 ft. lbs.).
