Piston Pin: Testing and Inspection

1. Check the outside diameter (OD) of the piston pin and record.
Pin diameter: 21.011-21.013 mm (0.82720-0.82728).





2. Check the inside diameter (ID) of the pin bore in the piston and record.
Piston, piston pin bore: 21.008-21.012 mm (0.8270-0.8272 inch).





3. Check the inside diameter (ID) of the pin bore in the connecting rod and record.
Connecting Rod Piston pin bore: 21.017-21.031 mm (0.827-0.828 inch).

4. Replace any piston pin, piston or connecting rod that is not within specification.

5. Subtract the piston's piston pin bore from the piston pin diameter. The difference should be -0.006 to +0.002 mm (-0.00024 to +0.00008 inch).

6. Subtract the piston pin diameter from the connecting rod piston pin bore diameter. the clearance should be 0.004 to 0.020 mm (0.00016 to 0.00079 inch).

7. Replace any component that is not within specification.
