Transmission Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

The pulse signal generator (PSG) is magnetic-pickup and located on the transaxle case. It detects the reverse clutch drum speed. There are 32 projections on the reverse clutch drum. As the reverse clutch drum rotates, the PSG produces an AC wave and sends it to the power train control module (PCM).
