Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
The vehicle uses an integrated Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor mounted in the Volume Air Flow (VAF) sensor.

OPERATION
The IAT sensor changes resistance when it comes in contact with the intake fresh air flow through the VAF sensor. This sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) indicating the incoming intake air temperature.
