Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait 1 minute for the backup power supply energy to be depleted.
WARNING: THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT NECESSARY FOR AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT IS POWERED DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY. TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE MUST BE DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO SERVICING OR REPLACING ANY AIR BAG SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
2. Remove the four driver side air bag module bolts from the back of the steering wheel.
3. Disconnect the driver side air bag/horn electrical connector from the driver side air bag module.
4. Disconnect the speed control electrical connector.
5. Remove the driver side air bag module from the steering wheel.
6. Remove the four speed control actuator switch screws.
7. Remove the speed control actuator switches.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Tighten the four driver side air bag module bolts to 4-5.6 N.m (3-4 lb-ft).
