Removal and Installation


REMOVAL

Injectors And Related Components:





WARNING: Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running.

1. Perform the fuel pressure release procedure.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Remove the engine air cleaner and air cleaner-to-intake manifold tube.
4. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring electrical connectors.
5. Remove the fuel supply tube bolt from the fuel supply tube. Discard the copper crush washer.
6. Remove the vacuum hose and the fuel return hose from the fuel pressure regulator.
7. Remove the fuel pressure regulator bolts and the fuel pressure regulator.
8. Remove the two fuel injection supply manifold bolts and remove the fuel injection supply manifolds.
9. Remove the six fuel injector 0-rings.
10. Remove the seven fuel charging wiring screws from each fuel injection supply manifold and remove the fuel charging wiring from the fuel injection supply manifolds.

Fuel Injector:





11. Remove one spacer from the top of each fuel injector and discard the spacer.
12. Remove the fuel injectors from the intake manifold by rotating them back and forth while pulling straight up.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Install new:
- Insulators
- Spacers
- Fuel injector O-rings
- Copper crush washers

NOTE: Apply a small amount of engine oil to the 0-ring during installation.

3. Tighten the fuel injection supply manifold bolts to 19-25 Nm (14-18 lb ft).
4. Tighten the fuel pressure regulator bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb in).
5. Tighten the fuel supply tube bolt to 25-34 Nm (19-25 lb ft).
