EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection
1. Clean dirt or other deposits from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.2. Start the engine and run it at idle.
Testing EGR Valve:
3. Connect a Rotunda Vacuum Tester 014-R1058 or equivalent as shown and apply vacuum.
4. Verify that the engine runs roughly or stalls at more than 40-60 mm Hg (1.6-2.3 in Hg).
5. If results are not as specified, replace the EGR valve.
