Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify customer concern by operating the climate control system.
2. Visually inspect the following components of the climate control system.

Mechanical
- Refrigerant leakage.
- Damaged or loose accessory drive belt.
- Damaged A/C compressor.
- Damaged A/C clutch.
- Damaged refrigerant hose(s).
- Damaged vacuum lines.

Electrical
- Blown fuse(s):
^ 15A AIR COND.
^ 40A AIR COND.
^ 40A HEATER.
^ 15A ENGINE.
^ 15A METER.
- Damaged wiring harness.
- Loose or corroded connections.
- Damaged relays.
- Damaged heater blower motor switch.
- Damaged airflow control switch.

3. Check for damage to the A/C compressor and the A/C clutch.
4. If fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
