Timing Cover: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.





2. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor and the water temperature indicator sender unit electrical connectors from the front water hose connection.





3. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the accessory drive belts.
5. Raise and support the vehicle.





6. Remove the belt idler bracket bolt from the belt idler bracket.





7. Use Crankshaft Pulley Holder T92C-6316-AH to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt. Remove the crankshaft pulley hub.
8. Remove the two engine front cover bolts behind the crankshaft pulley.
9. Remove the three remaining lower engine front cove, bolts.





10. Use Water Pump Pulley Remover T92C-6312-AH to remove the four water pump pulley bolts. Remove the water pump pulley.
11. Use Strap Wrench D85L-6000-A to hold the power steering pump pulley. Remove the power steering pump pulley nut. Remove the power steering pump pulley.
12. Lower the vehicle.
13. Remove the upper bolt from the belt idler bracket. Remove the belt idler bracket.
14. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt and remove the oil level indicator tube.
15. Remove the eight engine front cover bolts.
16. Remove the front engine front cover from the vehicle, then the rear engine front cover.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
