Replacement
REMOVAL1. Remove the timing belt.
2. Remove the oil pan.
3. If equipped, remove the four A/C compressor bolts. Remove the A/C compressor ant position it out of the way.
4. If equipped, remove the five A/C compressor mounting bracket bolts. Remove the A/C compressor mounting bracket.
5. Remove the power steering pump rear bracket bolt and the power steering pump support bolts from the cylinder block. Remove the power steering pump and the power steering pump support.
6. Use Crankshaft Damper Remover T74P-6316-A to remove the crankshaft sprocket and the crankshaft sprocket key.
7. Remove the nine oil pump bolts.
8. Remove the two oil pump screen cover and tube-to-oil pump bolts.
9. Remove the oil pump from the cylinder block.
10. Remove the oil pump to cylinder block ring and any sealant from the oil pump mating surfaces.
11. Use a screwdriver protected with a rag to remove the crankshaft front seal from the oil pump housing.
NOTE: Protect the oil pump housing with a rag while removing the crankshaft front seal.
INSTALLATION
1. Use a press and Front Seals Replacer T74P-6150-A to install a new crankshaft front seal.
2. Install a new oil pump to cylinder block ring onto the oil pump.
3. Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant to the cylinder block and install the oil pump.
CAUTION: Do not allow any sealant to get into the oil hole.
NOTE: The oil pump must be installed within five minutes after applying the silicone sealant.
4. Tighten the oil pump bolts A and B to 19-25 Nm {14-18 ft. lbs.)
NOTE: The bolts identified as A are 40 mm (1.57 inch) long. The bolts identified as B are 25 mm (0.98 inch) long.
5. Install the crankshaft sprocket and crankshaft sprocket key.
6. Install the power steering pump and power steering pump support. Tighten the two power steering pump support upper bolts and the power steering pump rear bracket bolts to 32-46 Nm (24-33 ft. lbs.). Tighten the power steering pump support lower bolt to 19-25 Nm (14-18 ft. lbs.).
7. If equipped, install the A/C compressor mounting bracket to the cylinder block. Tighten the A/C compressor mounting bracket bolts to 38-51 Nm (28-38 ft. lbs.).
8. If equipped, position the A/C compressor to the A/C compressor mounting bracket. Tighten the A/C compressor bolts to 38-51 Nm (28-38 ft. lbs.).
9. Install the two oil pump screen cover and tube bolts. Tighten the oil pump screen cover and tube bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 inch lbs.).
10. Install the oil pan.
11. Install the timing belt.
