Disassembly and Assembly

DISASSEMBLY
1. Use an impact driver to remove the oil pump cover bolts from the back of the oil pump housing.
2. Remove the outer rotor.
3. Remove the inner rotor.
4. Remove the oil pump relief valve plug.
5. Remove and discard the spring seat.
6. Remove the pressure spring.
7. Remove the oil pump relief valve.

ASSEMBLY
To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

Apply a liberal amount of clean engine oil to the friction surface of the oil pump housing and the inner and outer rotors. Install the inner and outer rotors with the markings facing up.

Tighten the oil pump cover bolts to 6-9 Nm (52-78 inch lbs.). Verify that the oil pump rotates smoothly by hand.
