Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the power window system and/or the heated back window system.
2. Visually inspect the components of the power window system and the heated back window system.

Mechanical
- Window alignment.
- Window mounting (regulator and bracket).
- Window frame interference.
- cracked window.
- Front door power window regulator

Electrical
- Blown fuse(s):
+ 30 A POWER WINDOW.
+ 15 A METER.
+ 40 A DEFOG.
- Damage to wiring harness.
- Loose or corroded connections.
- Damaged switches.
- corroded relay.
- Damaged defroster grid.

3. Check the wiring harness for obvious signs of shorts, opens, bad connections or damage.
4. If fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
