Flow of Diagnosis

^ The vehicle should be road tested, if possible, to determine or confirm the concern. Under normal operating conditions, a large percentage of transaxle situations are due to misadjusted or faulty components outside of the transaxle, such as the clutch, clutch hydraulic linkage and shift linkage.
^ Before and during the road test, be sure the clutch is functioning properly, the shift linkage is properly adjusted, and the transaxle is filled to the proper level with lubricant.
^ The Diagnosis by Symptom Chart is a guide for correcting conditions related to manual transaxles. Vehicle conditions, possible sources, and corrective actions are listed in the order that they should be checked.
Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
^ If the transaxle was removed, repaired, and installed, make certain the clutch and all gearshift linkages are operating properly.
^ Road test the vehicle to verify that the condition has been completely corrected.
