Reverse Idler Gear: Testing and Inspection

Check the reverse idler gear for:
^ Worn or damaged bushing, gear teeth, or release lever coupling groove.





^ Excessive clearance between the synchronizer sleeve and the reverse lever.
Maximum allowable clearance is 0.85 mm (0.033 inch).
