Assembly






1. If necessary, install the No.18 driven sprocket bearing assembly in the transaxle case. Install Threaded Drawbar T75T-1176-A, Servo Plug Replacer/Receiver T94P-77000-E2, and Needle Bearing Replacer T94P-77000-E1.

NOTE: The NO.18 driven sprocket bearing assembly can only be replaced once before transaxle case replacement becomes necessary. If the No. 18 driven sprocket bearing has been replaced previously and requires a second replacement, the transaxle case must be replaced.





2. Install the No. 18 driven sprocket bearing replacer.

CAUTION: Do not lubricate the outer surface of the No. 18 driven sprocket bearing assembly.

NOTE: The No. 18 driven sprocket bearing must be installed with the lettering on the needle bearing surface facing toward the needle bearing replacer.





3. If removed, install the fluid tube connector on the case. Tighten the fluid tube connector to 36-44 Nm (27-32 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the line pressure port plug on the case. Tighten the line pressure port plug to 22-26 Nm (17-19 ft. lbs.).





5. Use a small soft mallet to install new manual control seal assembly in the case.





6. Install the manual valve detent lever assembly and manual valve detent lever shaft into the case.





7. Use a hammer and a punch to install the manual shaft retaining pin.





8. Use a hammer and a punch to install the manual valve detent lever shaft retaining pin.

CAUTION: Do not allow the manual shaft retaining pin to make contact with the case.

9. Verify that the manual valve detent lever assembly rotates freely.





10. Install the manual valve actuator rod (Z-link).





11. Install the parking brake pawl assembly and parking pawl return spring.





12. Install the parking pawl shaft.





13. Install the parking pawl shaft retainer and bolt assembly. Use a 7 mm socket to tighten the parking pawl shaft retainer bolt to 7-9 Nm (62-79 inch lbs.).





14. Use Throttle Shaft Seal Replacer TO1P-70337-A to install new manual control lever seal.





15. Install the manual control lever shaft assembly into the transaxle case.

CAUTION: Lubricate manual control lever shaft before installing into transaxle case.

NOTE: Verify that the manual control lever shaft assembly can move freely.

16. Install the park pawl ratcheting spring.

NOTE: Verify that the actuating cam rotates freely.





17. Install the manual control lever assembly and bolt. Finger-tighten the bolt. The bolt will be torqued aver linkage adjustment.





18. Use Rear Lube Tube Seal Replacer T91P-76085-A to install a new final drive lube tube seal into the case.





19. Push a new final drive lube tube into its seal.





20. Push the final drive lube tube into the bearing of the case and seat with Lube Tube Replacer T94P-77000-U2 (part of Lube Tube Replacer Set T94P-77000-U).
