Distorted Wheel Inspection

Wheels must be replaced when they are bent, have air leaks, elongated bolt holes, and have excessive lateral or radial runout. Wheels with air leaks can, in most cases, be serviced.

Inspect For Wheel Damage
Inspect for wheel damage. Wobble or shimmy caused by a damaged wheel will eventually damage the front wheel bearing and cause uneven tire wear. Inspect the wheels for dents that could leak air. Check all wheel surfaces for:
- Excessive corrosion build-up.
- Cracks in metal.
- Bent flanges resulting from road obstructions. Remove and discard any damaged wheel. Replace it with a new wheel.
