Brush Spring Tension Inspection

1. Measure the force of the brush spring by using a spring balance.







2. Replace the brush spring if the force is below 7 N (1.5 lb). The spring force for a new brush spring should be 18.6-22.6 N (4.16-5.09 lb).

NOTE: The spring force is measured at the moment the brush spring separates from the brush.
