Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the LH front fender splash shield.
3. Place a drain pan beneath the Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) sensor.
4. Disconnect the TSS sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove the TSS sensor bolt.
6. Remove the TSS sensor from the Transaxle.
7. Inspect the O-ring for nicks or cuts; replace if necessary.
INSTALLATION
1. Install a new O-ring if necessary. Apply a light coat of petroleum jelly to the O-ring. Install the TSS sensor into its bore in the oil pump assembly.
3. Install the TSS sensor bolt. Tighten TSS sensor bolt to 12-14 (104-127 inch lbs.).
4. Connect the TSS sensor electrical connector.
5. Install the LH front fender splash shield.
6. Remove the drain pan and any obstructions. Lower the vehicle.
7. Check the transmission fluid level, add fluid as necessary.
