Fog/Driving Lamp Switch: Description and Operation

To operate the fog lamps, the low beams must be on. The fog lamp switch is located on the instrument panel finish panel.

The fog lamp system consists of:
- Two fog lamps.
- Fog lamp relay.
- Fog lamp switch.
- Fog lamp wiring.

If the high beams are activated, the fog lamps automatically shut off

All vehicles sold in Canada are equipped with fog lamps, which are used as Daytime Running Lamps (DRL). The operation of the fog lamps is slightly different than those on U.S. vehicles:
1. When the ignition switch is in the ON position and the parking brake is not engaged, the fog lamps will operate.
2. If the parking brake is applied and the headlamps are OFF, the fog lamps will shut off.

Night time operation is the same for both U.S. and Canadian vehicles.
