Backup Lamp Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Key OFF.
2. Disconnect the backup lamp switch C162.
3. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the backup lamp switch under these conditions:

Condition Resistance
Transaxle in R Less than 5 ohms.
Transaxle in N, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Greater than 10,000 ohms.

4. If the backup lamp switch is OK, return to the pinpoint tests. Pinpoint Tests
5. Otherwise, replace the backup lamp switch.
