A/C Pressure Cutoff Switch

The A/C pressure cut-off switch, located on the condenser to evaporator tube in front of the A/C condenser core, monitors refrigerant pressure and sends this information to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

A dual function A/C pressure cut-off switch is used. The electrical switch contacts that are located inside the A/C pressure cut-off switch are connected to the electrical circuit of the A/C condenser cooling fan and A/C clutch field coil. When the switch contacts close, the A/C clutch field coil and A/C condenser cooling fan switch to HIGH speed. When the switch contacts open, the A/C clutch field coil and A/C condenser cooling fan turn off.





The A/C pressure cut-off switch contacts will control the operation of the A/C compressor clutch field coil and the A/C condenser cooling fan according to the pressures shown in the table provided.
