Vehicle Speed Sensor/Transducer - Cruise Control: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the battery and the battery tray.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.







4. Support the engine with Rotunda Three-Bar Engine Support 014-00750 or equivalent.
5. Remove the three speed control servo nuts and position the speed control servo out of the way.
6. Remove the two fuel filter bracket nuts.
7. Remove the LH transaxle support insulator through bolt.
8. Slightly lower the engine and transaxle assembly.
9. Raise and support the vehicle.
10. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) electrical connector.
11. Remove the VSS bolt.







12. Rotate the VSS 180 degrees and remove it from the transaxle.
13. Inspect the VSS O-rings for damage and replace if necessary.

INSTALLATION

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
