Brake Pedal Height






1. Check that the distance from the center of the brake pedal to the floor carpet is within specifications. It must be between 191.5-196.5 mm (7.54-7.74 inches).
2. If necessary, adjust the brake pedal height by adjusting the brake pedal push rod.
^ Loosen the stopper locknut and turn the stopper bolt until it no longer contacts the brake pedal.
^ Loosen the clevis locknut.
^ Adjust the brake pedal height by turning the brake pedal push rod until the brake pedal height is 191.5-196.5 mm (7.54-7.74 inches).
^ Tighten the clevis locknut to 24-34 N.m (17-25 lb-ft).
^ Turn the stopper bolt until it contacts the brake pedal, then turn the stopper bolt an additional half-turn.
^ Tighten the stopper locknut to 9.8-11 N.m (7.2-8.1 lb-ft).
^ Verify that the stoplamps are operational.
