Wheel Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

System Operation
The anti-lock brake system uses four brake anti-lock sensors and four brake anti-lock sensor indicators to determine the rotational speed of each wheel. As the teeth on the brake anti-lock sensor indicators rotate past the brake anti-lock sensors, a signal proportional to the speed of rotation is generated and sent to the anti-lock brake control module.

FRONT
The front brake anti-lock sensors are mounted to the front wheel knuckles with two bolts. The front brake anti-lock sensor indicators are pressed onto the front wheel driveshaft and joints.

REAR
The rear brake anti-lock sensors are mounted to the rear wheel spindles with a bolt. The rear brake anti-lock sensor indicators are Dressed onto the wheel hubs.
