Center Primary Crash Sensor and Bracket

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait one minute for the backup power supply energy to be depleted.

WARNING: The backup power supply energy must be depleted before any air bag component service is performed. To deplete the backup power supply energy, disconnect the battery ground cable and wait one minute.








2. Remove the five air deflector screws.

3. Remove the air deflector covering the radiator primary crash center air bag sensor and bracket.






4. Remove the two radiator primary crash center air bag sensor and bracket bolts.

5. Disconnect the radiator primary crash center air bag sensor electrical connector as follows:






- Press the orange release tab and disconnect the orange connector.






- Press the blue release tab and disconnect the blue connection.

6. Remove the radiator primary crash center air bag sensor and bracket from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION






1. Position the radiator primary crash center air bag sensor and bracket with the arrow on top pointing toward the front of the vehicle and install the two radiator primary crash center air bag sensor and bracket bolts. Tighten the two radiator primary crash center air bag sensor and bracket bolts to 9.0-12 Nm (79-112 lb in).

2. Connect the radiator primary crash center air bag sensor electrical connector.

3. Install the air deflector covering the radiator primary crash center air bag sensor and bracket. Install the five air deflector screws.

4. Connect the battery ground cable.

5. Verify that the air bag indicator is operative.
