Normal Operation

NOTE: Circuit 936 (BR/Y) is attached to the side of the RH fender primary crash front air bag sensor case. In addition, the case is grounded to the vehicle.

The air bag diagnostic monitor measures the resistance between pin 20 (circuit 936 BR/Y) and pin 3 (air bag diagnostic monitor reference ground). If the air bag diagnostic monitor measures a difference of more than 2.0 ohms between pin 20 and pin 3, it will flash a code 44.

Possible Causes
High resistance on pin 20 (circuit 936 BR/Y) to ground can be caused by:
1. A poor connection due to loose mounting, dirt, or corrosion at the RH fender primary crash front air bag sensor mounting location.
2. An open or damaged wire in circuit 936 (BR/Y) from pin 20 of the air bag diagnostic monitor harness connector to the RH fender primary crash front air bag sensor.
3. An open wire or loose BR/Y wire attachment inside the RH fender primary crash front air bag sensor.
