A/C Signal: Description and Operation
A/C Relay/WAC Relay:
PURPOSE
The A/C clutch control relay is used to improve engine idle after start up, and to improve performance on acceleration.
OPERATION
The A/C clutch control relay is controlled by a signal from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The signal acts as a circuit on / off switch for the compressor's magnetic clutch. The PCM will cut off the A/C clutch control relay during Wide Open Throttle (WOT) conditions. The A/C clutch control relay is mounted in the main fuse junction panel in the engine compartment.
