With Automatic Transmission

1. Key OFF.
2. Disconnect the Transmission Range (TR) sensor C161.







3. Measure the resistance between the 4 terminal and the 2 terminal at the TR sensor under these conditions:

Condition Resistance
Transaxle in R Less than 6 ohms.
Transaxle in P, N, D, 2 or 1 Greater than 10,000 ohms.

4. If the TR sensor is OK, return to the pinpoint tests. Pinpoint Tests
5. Otherwise, replace the TR sensor.
