Fuel Gauge
1. Remove the instrument cluster.2. Remove the fuel indicator module from the back of the instrument cluster.
3. Apply 12 volts to the fuel gauge "+" terminal and ground to the fuel gauge "-" terminal.
4. Connect one lead of the Rotunda Instrument Gauge System Tester 014-R1063 or equivalent to the "F" terminal of the fuel gauge and the other lead to the "-" terminal of the fuel gauge.
5. Adjust the instrument gauge system tester to the resistances shown in the chart.
Fuel Gauge Resistance (ohms)
F 7.0
3/4 19.0
1/2 35.0
1/4 65.0
E 105.0
6. If the fuel gauge does not operate as specified, replace the fuel gauge. If the fuel gauge is OK, return to the Pinpoint Tests.
