Oil Pan, Engine
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the RH front splash shield.
4. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the oil from the oil pan.
5. Disconnect the downstream heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
6. Remove the warm-up three way catalytic converter (WU-TWC) to exhaust inlet pipe nuts and discard the nuts. Position the pipe out of the way.
NOTE: Support the exhaust system at the three way catalytic converter (TWC) using a screw-type jacks
7. Remove the exhaust clamp from the hold-down bracket.
8. Remove the oil pan bolts.
9. Carefully pry the oil pan from the stiffener.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean the stiffener and oil pan gasket surfaces.
2. Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant around the oil pan.
3. Position the oil pan on the stiffener. Tighten the oil pan bolts to 19-25 Nm (14-18 ft. lbs.).
4. Install a new exhaust clamp. Tighten the exhaust clamp nuts to 34-47 Nm (26-34 ft. lbs.).
5. Attach the new WU-TWC-to-exhaust inlet pipe nuts. Tighten the WU-TWC-to-exhaust inlet pipe nuts to 38-51 Nm (28-38 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove the screw-type jack.
7. Connect the HO2S electrical connector.
8. Install the RH front splash shield. Tighten the RH front splash shield bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 inch lbs.).
9. Install the oil pan drain plug. Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 30-41 Nm (22-30 ft. lbs.).
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Fill the engine with the specified engine oil to the required level.
12. Connect the battery ground cable.
