Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation

ELECTRIC OPERATION
The sliding roof panel is an optional, electrically operated, external sliding roof panel. The sliding roof panel operates with the ignition switch in the ON position. The sliding roof panel electrical system consists of:
- Sliding roof panel motor.
- Sliding roof panel relay.
- 15 A SUNROOF FUSE.
- Sliding roof panel switch.

The sliding roof panel switch is a rocker type switch and is located in the roof console. The sliding roof panel switch controls:
- Tilt-up feature.
- Opening of the sliding roof panel.
- Closing of the sliding roof panel.

NOTE: The sliding roof panel switch should be released when the sliding roof panel reaches the fully opened or fully closed position. Holding the sliding roof panel switch on will cause undue wear on the sliding roof panel motor.

If the sliding roof panel switch is pressed rearward, the sliding roof panel will tilt up to allow ventilation. The switch must be released and pressed again to open the sliding roof panel. When the switch is pressed forward, the sliding roof panel will close completely.

MANUAL OPERATION
For manual operation of the sliding roof panel, the headliner must be removed and an appropriate wrench must be used to turn the sliding roof panel motor drive shaft nut.
