Keyless Entry: Description and Operation
The electronic door lock control system uses a keyless entry remote transmitter to lock and unlock the front doors and activate a panic alarm from distances up to 10 meters (33 feet) away. The panic alarm is activated by pressing the keyless entry remote transmitter panic button. The hazard lamps and horn intermittently flash and sound for two minutes and forty five seconds, unless the panic button is pressed a second time or the ignition switch is turned to the ON or START position.The keyless entry remote transmitter will not function when the ignition switch is in the ON, ACC or START position.
The electronic door lock control system consists of:
- Keyless entry remote transmitter.
- Electronic door lock control processor.
- Electronic door lock control processor antenna.
Inputs and Outputs
The electronic door lock control system accepts inputs from the program connector, the ignition switch, and three different signals from the keyless entry remote transmitter through the electronic door lock control processor antenna.
The outputs from the electronic door lock control system go to the:
- Illuminated entry system (if equipped).
- Power door lock relay.
- Horn relay.
- Indicator flasher.
