Input Shaft: Testing and Inspection

1. If needle bearing surface in bearing bore is damaged or if cone surface is damaged, replace input shaft.
2. Check input shaft gear teeth and splines for wear or damage. Replace input shaft if gear teeth or splines are bent, scored or worn.
3. Use a stone to dull sharp edges of the splines. If splines are worn excessively or notched, the clutch disc will not slide on the input shaft. Replace the input shaft as necessary.
